The corrective exercise progression always starts with mobility exercises. The first step in the primitive pattern process (movement pattern exercises) should include upper and lower body rolling patterns. The rolling will be performed bilaterally to note mobility limitation and asymmetry. If mobility is restricted then the primary focus of the corrective exercise session should include improving mobility. If mobility is not changed, then you should proceed with mobility exercises to prove it is present. The advancement to stability exercises can be done if the patient has mobility that allows the person to get into the appropriate exercise posture and position.
